Understanding the River
OnceAsked replaces the traditional vertical chat thread with a horizontal flow of message cards.
The River is OnceAsked's core interface: instead of a single vertical thread where messages disappear as they scroll past, each message becomes its own card in a horizontal flow you can scan, filter, and return to. This makes it much easier to find something you remember seeing without scrolling through hundreds of unrelated messages first.
Cards carry more than just text. A card can hold a document, a poll, a scheduled event, or the result of an action your team took, and it stays addressable on its own rather than being buried in thread history.
The River is the same interface whether you are looking at a single channel or your personal My Notes workspace, so the navigation habits you build in one place carry over everywhere else in the product.
